We are pleased that you have chosen Røyken as your new home and we welcome you to contribute to the development of our municipality.
Røyken lies in a unique position between the Drammen and Oslo fjords in south east Norway. The area is ideal for outdoor aktivities both summer and winter. We have a beautiful coastline with several beaches as well as forest and farmland.
Kultural and sports activities flourish amongst the almost 22,500 inhabitants of Røyken helped by the opening of a new swimming centre (Røykenbadet) in January 2017.
From 1st January 2020 Røyken, Hurum and Asker municipalities are merging together to form one large municipality which will be called Asker.
Until then, Røyken's neighbouring municipalities are Hurum, Asker and Lier. From Røyken there is a bus service to Drammen, Asker, Sandvika and Oslo. The train stops at Spikkestad and in Røyken centre, and from Slemmestad there is a fast ferry to Aker Brygge in Oslo.
